This individual will be responsible for establishing lean manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence throughout the plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description - other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.

  • Seek out and manage projects that will deliver savings year over year.
  • Track all CI projects occurring throughout the facility and drive them to completion.
  • Identify and facilitate process improvement projects, training/ workshops to drive cultural change
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing/ business issues, material flow, project plans, production capacity, and create process documentation
  • Lead, train, and coach cross functional teams to implement improvements and embrace lean culture change.
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel to improve existing processes, increase safety, and solve any ergonomic concerns.
  • Use creativity, innovative approaches, and industry-accepted methodologies to solve complex problems.
  • Facilitate non-technical personnel in leading Kaizen events.
  • Implement 5S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, and Standard Work projects.
  • Assist the champions of other CI projects as necessary.
  • Other tasks/functions as assigned. Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or 10+ years of equivalent experience
    • 3-5 years experience in lean manufacturing environment
    • Lean Six Sigma Green belt preferred
    • Experience with leading project teams
    • Experience with Lean Systems Implementation in a manufacturing environment
    • Excellent technical skills (mechanical / machining / Special Process)
    • Capable of executing Lean in engineering environments (order flow, technical specs, estimating, configuration)
    • Ability to effectively manage Lean or Kaizen events and supporting resources
    • Ability to influence leadership across functions, and at many levels from shop floor to conference room
    • Strong analytical & coaching skills. Goal to develop Lean experts throughout the plant
    • Transparent, results oriented, and accountable with strong customer focus
    • Must be passionate about results gained the right way, through the development of people and processes
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and rapidly changing, transforming environment.
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to read/interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
    • Intermediate Microsoft Office experience with emphasis in Outlook, Excel, Project, and Powerpoint
    • CAD knowledge preferred
    • Occasional travel, less than 10%
