As an Observation Unit Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you can be a part of positive change. Summit is the busiest level 3 trauma hospital in Tennessee. In this position you will be working in a 25 bed Observation Unit. This unit cares for patients who are anticipated to discharge in 24-48 hours from admission. The diagnoses we would care for would be chest pain awaiting a stress test, angioedema patients, TIA patients whose symptoms have resolved, and dehydration due to nausea/vomiting/diarrhea who just need IV fluids and some electrolyte replacement and can go home quickly. If they need further care after they are admitted to the observation unit, they will be transferred to another inpatient unit. There are unlimited growth opportunities at HCA! Job Summary and Qualifications Observation Unit Clinical Care Coordinator The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordinates all functions in the unit. In partnership with the management team, the CNC monitors and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies. The CNC serves as a resource for staff and supports an unparalleled patient experience. What you will do in this role:
  • Partner with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver high quality, patient-centered care.
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and leadership team to support improved outcomes and service.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and training to improve performance and engagement.
  • Assist with staff scheduling. What qualifications you will need:
    • Registered Nurse
    • Bachelors Degree
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • ACLS with 30 days of hire
    • NIHSS Stroke Certification within 30 days of hire TriStar Summit is a 234-bed comprehensive facility. We serve Davidson, Wilson and surrounding counties. We include a Level III Trauma Center.
