TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Hermitage, Tennessee, 37076 Pay Information $1,724 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00, 3 12-hour shifts per week Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Critical thinking skills - EKG rhythm interpretation - Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips - Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred - Peripheral IV skills Job Description: - Work in a PCU with units having 34 and 25 beds, ensuring patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 during the day, and 1:5 to 1:6 at night. - Utilize various equipment including bipaps, high flow oxygen, vapotherm, alaris pumps, wound vacs, and manage cardiac and insulin drips. - Conduct procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, dobhoff/NG tube insertions, and central line dressing changes. - Maintain proficiency with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes. - Perform hourly rounding on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights to enhance patient experience. - Ensure compliance with documentation systems using Meditech. - Adhere to a dress code requiring black scrubs. - Engage in self-scheduling; contracts mandate work every other weekend. - Provide compassionate care, embracing a "care like family" culture and fostering great teamwork.
